What can I say? It’s a Werewolf novel and I liked it. It’s been a long time since I have read a werewolf novel where the werewolf isn’t just a monster – or rather the monster in the story. Armstrong has an interesting take on the werewolf sub-culture and the fact that her main character is the only female werewolf. I also like the fact that her characters are quite human and just as screwed up as anyone else. Elena is torn between the two worlds that she is a part of, and along with all the other things that happen in the novel between the ‘mutts’ and the Pack, it is the main driving force throughout. I read it in a day, if that says anything to you. This is the first novel by Kelley Armstrong and I look forward to more from her.
