It’s been a while since I posted last. You see, my monitor bit the dust and I wasn’t even able to do my assignments! So I went and I got a new one. That’s what I’m supposed to be doing now as a matter of fact, finishing an essay. Thing is I am supposed to have about 2000 words and I’m three quarters of the way there and I have no more to say! I really hate that. I’m thinking that I’ll need a second opinion before the night is through. I messaged my friend Walli on ICQ and all her NA message says is: CHOCOLATE! I think she’ll be back later. I hope so, she’s got good insights sometimes – well lots of the time actually. My essay’s about Women martyrs in Christianity. Heavy topic, but theres some interesting little factoids that’ll probably stick with me forever. That’s the reason I love school, I remember so many useless things in the face of all the useful ones. Sigh. For example, did you know that Aristotle thought women were in fact imperfect men? Oh yeah and women could become perfect by acquiring manly characteristics. That also makes men able to be imperfect by being effeminate. Wild eh?
I had lunch with my mom today. It was nice to actually see her. It’s hard when she lives in an entirely different city and she hates driving over the mountain to get here. I’m glad there are busses! So we got all caught up on all the important stuff and we ate good food at the Cheesecake Cafe. Yes it is as good as it sounds. I even brought home cheesecake for John. ^_^
I also got to talk to Gnome again. Seems she’s doing a bit better now, but man trouble is never entertaining in the least. Mine’s going to be home in an hour or so, if he’s estimated right. That’s one thing that I’ve found with guys, their concept of time is almost entirely different. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, except defrost the chicken and hope that dinner and him coming home coincide. (Geez, this sounds almost too fifties for me!)
I’m not used to talking about my own life. My journals are usually filled with fiction scenarios and bits of poetry and other whacky things. Somewhere I even have a web site full of that kind of crap. (My instructors say you gotta write the crap to get to the good stuff, you see.) Maybe I’ll find the address and post it here. Anyway, don’t be surprised to find some sort of short story here some day rather than an entry. (I got the bug back!! YAY!)
Well, I’m off to put the chicken in the oven. mmmm! I just wish I could have found those damn Jalapeno Poppers!
